George Richard has realized corporate, advisory, and entrepreneurial success. He played a key role in defining and executing the business and leading corporate development and investment efforts at six successful public and private companies. Four of the companies were acquired for more than $135 billion in the aggregate.

George is dedicated to creating successful businesses in wireless communications and adjacent industries. George works with entrepreneurs as their trusted advisor, investing in and building early stage companies that use wireless technology to improve the way people live, work, and play. George is excited to be a participant in an industry that is transforming peoples lives. He brings 20 years of global operating, investing, and business development experience to his partnership with company founders.

Before founding Maven Venture Partners in 2005, George held executive positions at Pacific Telesis, AirTouch, CL Communications, Saraide, InfoSpace, and Everypath. In implementing growth initiatives, he identified, negotiated, and consummated over forty service and technology investments with global service providers and vendors and innovative private technology and service companies. From the late 1980’s through the late 1990’s he led AirTouch International expansion into major European and Asian markets and expanded the domestic footprint. He built Saraide from a start up to a mobile application provider with 19 carrier customers in Europe and Asia. He also negotiated Saraide’s $1.4 billion stock sale to InfoSpace. George was the early CFO and VP business Development at Everypath, a Sevin Rosen Funds and USVP portfolio company. He was an officer at Chase/Chemical Bank and Wasserstein Perella where he serviced telecommunications and media clients.

George earned a Masters in Economics from UCLA and an MBA from the Stanford Business School. He is an advisor to numerous private companies and non-profits in the San Francisco Bay Area. He lives with his wife of 20 years and his three children in Los Altos. His passions are his children, his faith, and youth education.
